I’ve decided that the planning and implementation for long distance moto riding is similar to sailing offshore.
Limited space to carry gear, weather planning, fuel planning, route planning, communications…been there and done this before! Of course, that was on a 48′ (16 meter) sailboat!
We are watching the weather daily in relation to our target “leave” date of April 28. The discussion of “we may need to leave sooner” due to weather being forecast (this is New England/Quebec weather…it is constantly changing) is occurring.
We pick up our BMW motorcycles from winter storage and being serviced in the morning. It will be a bit chilly riding…below is a picture of what our front yard in Magog, QC currently looks like!
Our plan is to arrive in Monterey, CA Thursday, May 16. Parker graduates from CSU Monterey Friday, May 17!
